Erin Parade March 18, 2006

It was a great day for the Irish and for the Nashville British Car Club

The day dawned cold and cloudy but as soon as the British cars started to assemble at Dotson’s Restaurant in Franklin, Mother Nature smiled on us and the sun beamed down for the remainder of the day. The first driving event of the year was a 100 kilometer trip to Erin, TN, to participate in their 44th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Parade. (Yes, we were all in the Parade!)

Following the Parade we enjoyed a true Irish buffet with corned beef and cabbage and all the trimmings at Erin’s Irish Grille. If you missed this outing, you missed a good one. Pictures have been on the web site for several days but it was more fun being there. Cars (and members) included five Triumphs (Coffey, Endicott, Tomlinson, Hanes, Adams), four MG’s (Stitch, King, Schuler, Bonds), a brace of Austin Healeys (Leonard, Broome), one Jensen Healey (Appleman) and the Long’s striking 1937 Riley, out for its’ inaugural driving event. Everyone made the trip with no significant problems. 2006’s driving events are off to a good start and Doug and Karen if you check the web site, we missed you!
